If you had to teach soccer skills to a group of kindergartens , how would you do it?

We Answered:

Spacing!! Start out with a large circle marked out, and have them dribble around without hitting each other or getting out of control. Then make the space smaller and smaller (You could even do this small to big, as long as they get the idea that crowding the ball makes it difficult to play.) Basic drills with cones, dribbling from one place to another, weaving would all be beneficial too.

Passing would be a big thing too. Make sure to instill the "instep only" passing idea deeply in them VERY early on.

Shooting's not as critical as the other things, but I would let them shoot into a goal to let them build some confidence, plus it's the best feeling in the world for them when they get one in. :)

Most important I think, is developing love for the game. The rest will come.

Why is teaching strategy to youth soccer players/teams discouraged in the US?

We Answered:

I do not know. As a former Soccer Player myself I always remember being taught team strategies similar to what you described above and our teams always did well with that type of strategy. I think it's unfortunate that there is such a high emphasis on individual skills when a compbination of individual skill and team skills is by far better.

how do I improve my soccer skills and tricks?Like street footballers?can any one teach me?

We Answered:

what you want to do is train. you want to be fast so you should do sprint work along with skills, because you have to out run them them. work on juggling practice with a hacky sack and work on being aggresive because you don't want to be push around when you are playing people bigger than you.

How to know if my soccer skills are good enough for highschool soccer

We Answered:

you have to know how to control the ball at various speeds like sprinting and holding on to it. Work on ur fitness level alot too. high school games are usually running plays and not much control so i recommend working on your speed the most
