Author Teaching the Writing Process to 3rd Graders?

We Answered:

We had an author come in and do the same thing.

When I saw she was coming I was dreading it because she spoke at a school I was at several years ago and it was boring.

However, this time it was much more interesting.

She had a powerpoint that featured pictures of things she wrote when she was their age, pictures of where she got her ideas for writing, pictures of her notes, drafts, etc. all the way to her final copy.

Visually, the kids could go on her journey with her from idea to published book. And they were really really into it. (These were 2nd graders).

Roland Said:

Should a teacher be forced to grade a school wide assessment in another subject?

We Answered:

if it isnt your subject you shoul not be grading it, if this is like a final exam thing, then it should only be graded by teachers responsible for the subject. if you dont teach it you can grade it using the answer key and rubric or scantron or whatever you use to grade them, but when a science teacher personally grades them, you have the advantage of knowing the subject and the material and you can catch mistakes much easier and grade more fairly and give credit for free response answers. and you can catch any mistakes on the answer document or invalid responses on the exam or any unreasonable questions on the test. please answer mine, http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…
