How do i get started with private tutoring? i'd like to teach voice or english lessons to pre-schoolers.?We Answered:
I don't know about english lessons - teaching phonics or Dolsch words (sight words) which is more like learning to read would probably be more realistic. English lessons can't come in until you know how to read and write. (And what mothers wouldn't want their child going to school already knowing how to read!)I don't know what your experience is with singing or voice lessons, but teaching the basics for ANYTHING is always where you start. Try picking up workbooks or teaching how-to's from an educational/teaching supply store. DON'T try buying them from a bookseller like Barnes and Nobles, etc. Teacher supply stores retail books that are strictly for the INSTRUCTION of students. The bookstores' books are more like general knowledge about subjects. The teacher books have been designed by companies and authors who research the entire instructional process, including proven techniques and the psychology involved for both teacher and student.
I think the idea of teaching preschoolers is great - that's probably when they're the hungriest for learning! They're like sponges when it comes to learning! A word of caution, though; don't push. Make it fun! You could turn them off if too harsh and it may well create a future of headache and heartache for both child and parent!
* (I would also recommend that parent be present, although in alternate room where he/she is out of sight during the tutoring session.)

I want to take voice lessons but?We Answered:
Yes, they can, and follow what they tell you to do. You will be trained on how to breathe differently in order to make your voice sound the best it can.It doesn't cost millions an hour, but do price compare, and check their reputations. If you have a better business bureau near you, check to see if there were any complaints against them.
Good luck!

How do you practice for voice lessons? We Answered:
try and hold a long loud steady pitch that doesn't hurt. Then shift an 'interval' to another note. use a piano to confirm you're in tune. try making the transition from one note to the other as seamless as possible. etc.Dale Said:
Do you need a license when teaching voice and acting? We Answered:
I am not familiar with those states, but in some places a business license is needed. Other places, there are no licensure requirements for private instructors.Johnny Said:
