Any college students having a hard time finding jobs?We Answered:
I graduated in 2008 and had a very rough road from the start. I was lucky to have a job when I did graduate, but then I was layed off by the end of the summer. It took me 5 long, hard months to find the job I currently have, and I've been hanging in there ever since. I only have a BBA, but the research these days is showing that there are so many people with an MBA on the market right now that it is not going to be easy for anyone. It took me 5 months during the beginning of the recession, so I could only imagine how long you might struggle right now. Hang in there. We all go crazy after so many weeks of no interviews or interviews but no call-backs. I remember it to be easily the hardest time in my life. I wish you much luck and success. As for action steps, take a few free interview classes or resume tune-up classes, then go to job fairs and network with as many potential employers and recruiters that you possibly can. If you are looking for a job in education, jobs begin to open up at a high rate in March, then by August the jobs all disappear. Now is the prime time for hiring. If you don't see any jobs in your area now, things must be terrible there. You should be willing to travel a little further, take a little less income, and scale yourself down as far as you can. This part of your life will never be easy, but one day, when you do get that offer, you will be relieved that you were able to hold on for so long.

Assistant child care teaching job?We Answered:
Your questions aren't silly. Most of us had no idea what we were getting into when we applied for our first job.Check online (like Craigslist) and your local newspaper for jobs. I would recommend calling to make an appointment to come in for an interview. They will probably ask you a few questions over the phone before setting up the interview and this would be your opportunity to make sure that they have a part-time opening.
Many daycares use both full-time and part-time employees. I would think that you would have a decent possibility of working PT now and FT in the summer. They may be looking for someone to increase their hours in the summer to cover for vacations, etc. or, if it is a program that cares for school-age children, the children who only need PT care during the school year need FT care in the summer.
Most child care centers aren't open on the weekends, but you can always ask.
One piece of unsolicited advice (sorry, can't resist)--before you go in for your interview, make a professional-looking resume. You can include volunteer work that you have done, babysitting, classes you have taken, etc. Just make sure that it is attractive, printed on nice paper and has no typos or misuses of grammar.
Good luck!

Student lab assistant application?We Answered:
"the scientific research process, as well as, scientific research as a field"- This is repetitive and sounds awkward. You can't use "scientific research" twice in one sentence. Change one of the phrases."I also hope to gain skills and knowledge outside of the traditional undergraduate curriculum"- Be specific about skills you want, you can always cut out the second half of the sentence. This is too abstract.

How should I tell him?We Answered:
Why is your financial situation any of his business? When dating ya'll financial business is your own. You only share financial information once you are married... and you've only been dating 2 months!!There is nothing wrong with being a volunteer and doing exactly what you are doing. If you really feels he needs to know, then just tell him like you did on yahoo answers. If he goes away, then the relationship was not meant to happen anyway. Good luck.

You will be accepted for voluntary work, but I doubt any schools will pay you to be a TA without you actually training towards a teaching assistant qualification.Gail Said:
